Join us for our 3 day Yarn Retreat at Lusty Beg Island Resort

What is included in our yarn retreat?

We are happy to announce dates for our March and November 2025 retreats at Lusty Beg Island.

The main aims of the yarn retreat are relaxation and spending some time with like-minded people, learning new skills and time to work on your own projects. We provide demonstrations in Yarn Spinning, Weaving, Felting and Surface Sewing, alongside any knitting or crochet techniques you might like some help with. We bring wheels, looms and materials with us so you can have a go yourself. There is no obligation to take part in any demonstrations if you prefer to just be there to spend time with friends or meeting new people and working on your own projects in the relaxing surroundings. Demonstrations are provided at no extra charge.

Additional Information

Accessibility: The hotel does have a fully accessible room which is available on request for wheelchair users. If you have mobility issues we can also request ground floor access rooms. The resort does have some uneven paths around the walking trails, however, all areas in use at the retreat are fully accessible.

We divide the conference room into a section for those taking part in workshops and a section for those that just wish to have a space available to work on their own projects, ensuring social distancing can be maintained if needs be. The island also has a bar, walking trails, island spa and other facilities bookable locally for which we are happy to liaise with the hotel staff on your behalf, please let us know of anything you'd like more information on when your booking is confirmed.

Bookings can be secured either by payment plan or in full at time of booking. The suggested payment plan is £150 deposit per person at time of booking, with the remainder split over 1 or 2 instalments and due to be paid in full by the 21st October 2024. Bookings are non refundable, should something unforeseen arise and you/your party can no longer attend we will maintain a waiting list and if we are able to resell your space/s on your behalf we will. You will then be offered a refund minus reasonable admin/card processing costs.

In light of Covid-19 booking the retreats constitutes an element of financial risk for us, but we do want to be as fair and flexible as we can be because we know trips such as this are important for people at this time. If the hotel has to close for Covid related reasons your booking will be transferred to an alternative suitable date and we will be in touch with you to discuss options available.

If you are interested in attending as a group we can arrange to have your group accommodated together. We may be able to come up with accommodation arrangements to suit groups of 3, 4 or more, please let us know your needs and we will work with the hotel to see what is possible for your group.

Inspiring Yarns is a Not For Profit Community Interest Company registered in Northern Ireland (NI676244). Any profits we make from hosting events such as this retreat will be reinvested in our organisation to provide services to support people with mental health needs across Ireland and the UK.

If you are travelling from outside NI and have any questions about the area please do get in touch with us hello@inspiringyarns.co.uk

Boa Island is quite remote and most people travel by car to get there. We may be able to offer a collection service for people wanting to travel by bus or public transport to get you from Enniskillen or Kesh to Lusty Beg. Lusty Beg also has parking facilities both for day visitors and on the Island itself for residents of the hotel. Lusty Beg also operates its own ferry service to bring guests to and from the island. The ferry operates on demand and is free of charge.
